Business
Class Services
|
|
|
You probably already recognize the importance of offering high-speed
Internet access to guests visiting your business. Whether you
offer wireless, wired, or both types of connectivity, there
is no doubt that offering such a service can differentiate your
business from competitors, generate additional revenue, and
increase overall customer satisfaction. It is for these other
reasons that the growth in hotspots are expecting to triple
over the next 12-18 months and users of hotspots, according
to Gartner, are projected to increase from 4.2 Million in 2003
to 31 Million in 2007!
These numbers are crucial to understanding the importance of
offering a Business Class Hotspot Service to your customers.
Feedback from customers and industry analysts indicate that
potential users of this service are already planning their business
or personal travel around locations which offer wired or wireless
(Wi-Fi) services. It is very likely that if your business doesn't
offer this service, your customers will find one that does.
At WISPGulf, we value your business. Our goal is to deliver
quality products and services required for your business to
survive in the ever changing marketplace. Your business requires
a service that is affordable, available, and most importantly,
easy to use.

Hotspot
Overview
|
|
|
What
you may not know ?
|
|
|
The IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers),
who is a leading authority in many of the worlds technical areas,
created a standard for wireless local area networking products
called 802.11 or Wi-Fi. This standard, which has connection
speeds of 2-54Mbps (depending on the specific 802.11 technology
used), allows manufacturers of wireless products to develop
solutions that interoperate with one another, plowing the way
for faster development of easy to use wireless technology.
As wireless continues to grow, the ability to acquire the equipment
is becoming easier. Major network manufacturers and retail chains
now offer wireless networking components at low prices and with
the features to enable business employees and home users to
extend their network connection beyond the office walls. The
wireless "revolution" is now making it possible for
users to get connected in public locations as companies like
WISPGulf and its Hotspot Solutions Partners (HSP) deliver
their services to the marketplace.

|
|
How
does it work?
|
|
|
The Access Point (AP) is the device that generates the wireless
signal and usually supports standard networking features, making
it a powerful solution for connecting to DSL, Cable, or other
internet connections. There are many networking manufactures
that distribute these products and before you buy, make sure
it follows the open Wi-Fi standards created by the IEEE.
Radio cards are the network interface cards that connect the
device(s) to the wireless network. Radio cards come in many
form factors, the most common are those used in mobile laptops
or hand held devices. In general, as long as your radio cards
are built on Wi-Fi technology, they too will work with most
AP's on the market today.

Private
and public wireless connections
|
|
|
The need for users to become mobile and have access to the internet
is reaching new heights. Employees with access to network resources
away from their desk can be more productive and home users are
looking to leave the confines of their office or house to gain
WEB access. The solution is private and public wireless connections.
Private networks are just that, private. They allow access to
those who are authorized to use them. Businesses today want
their employees to have access to the network but want to protect
their company assets by selecting the users they want connected.
Protecting a wireless network from unauthorized users is a hot
topic in the industry today. Using protocols such as 802.1x,
EAP, IPsec, or simply hiding the SSID (wireless network name)
can provide layers of security to limit access to only those
who should have it.
WISPGulf brings the experience to integrate both public
and private networks together without compromising neither the
ease of use nor the security that each demand.
Public wireless networking (hotspots) is the way of the future.
These locations will become easier to find as hotspot integrators
such as WISPGulf, help to add this unique service to businesses
around the globe. Imagine being at your favorite coffee shop,
a ski resort, a hotel, or even the laundry mat, and being able
to quickly and easily surf the Internet.

Customer
Access Portal (CAP)
|
|
|
The Customer Access Portal (CAP) is the direct interface for
your customers accessing the Internet. The CAP provides you
with the opportunity to tell customers about your business,
local news and weather, or make them aware of local businesses
they may be interested in.
The CAP is also the method your guests are provided to enter
their user credentials to gain access to the Internet. All users
connected to the service are redirected to this page and can
not gain access to the service unless they have successfully
authenticated. Guests who have not been given access to your
service will also be redirected to this portal should they connect
to your network. This will allow them to view the content you
have provided on your portal, even if they are not interested
in paying (if you choose to charge for your service) for Internet
access.
Lastly, the CAP allows us to jointly offer web advertising.
This can provide a unique and valuable method for local businesses
nearby to reach your guests and is yet another method of revenue
for your own business. Because we service a broad range of businesses,
we work with you and your staff to customize each solution that
is deployed.
