What is IMAP email account?
IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) email accounts allow you to synchronize the mails, sub folders and Calendars between the remote mail server and your local computer where your mail Client is installed. Since the mails are not downloaded, the mails remain on the server to be accessed from anywhere.
What is "Email aliasing"?
Email aliases facilitate additional email addresses to a single or group of mail boxes. For eg. billing@yourdomain.com can be an email alias which forwards the mails to mail boxes of all the users in accounts department. A mail box can be linked to multiple aliases.

What is email spoofing?
Email spoofing send mails with forged email header to make it appear as if it came from somewhere or someone other than the actual source.
What is Spam?
An unsolicited email is considered to be Spam mail. IT may contain advertisement on products and services, appeals, etc
Is it possible to stop Spam?
An 100% removal of Spam is not practical as any Spam filters may even remove legitimate mails. But the amount can be significantly reduced
Why my anti-virus software is not enough to secure my email?
Anti-virus software offers limited protection against email threats as such utilities only protect you from roughly 5% of the prevailing variety of email threats.
I do have a firewall, isn’t that enough to secure my emails?
Firewalls do not typically filter the contents of emails, hence email borne threats. Since firewall works on authentication while emails move in and out without an authentication mechanism at perimeter level, it is not possible for firewall to stop every mail and force it through an authentication mechanism. Hence firewall passes that responsibility to the mail server.
Can I protect my email by placing the email server in the DMZ?
By placing mail server on the DMZ, you shift the problem instead of finding a solution. Likewise internal users will have difficulty accessing the mails which again force them to use free email services which opens another layer of risk.
What is required to have a secure email solution?

Why mails are not delivered?
While sending mails, it moves from the sender’s mail service provider to the recipient’s mail service provider before it reaches the recipient. In your case, the sender’s mail provider is ASPGulf and we take all the needful action to ensure a smooth functioning of your mail delivery.
However there are scenarios where the recipient’s service provider or mail firewall playing a role in non delivery which need to be verified from the recipient’s local administrator.
Why does email I sent take forever to get to its destination?
Email traverse from one service provider to another in a matter of seconds over the Internet, but there are scenarios when the delivery get delayed. Various servers along the path the email takes could be overloaded or malfunctioning, which will slow progress. If you face unending problems with one particular service provider, it’s advised to contact them to resolve the situation.
Why I have the error "550 not local host....not a gateway" when trying to send mail out?
Recheck the email account configuration in the mail client (Outlook/Express). Ensure "My outgoing server requires authentication" is selected in the Outgoing Mail Server setting.
