The
network to a Data Centre contains 'redundant routes'; this means
that a computer or piece of network equipment has more than one
link to the Internet. Should a single link be broken access to
the computer or network equipment remains intact. Due to the high
cost of installing a high bandwidth line typically equipment or
a computer housed at the premises of an organisation has only
a single link and should this link fail for whatever reason connection
to the Internet is lost.
All racks have power redundancy, should there be fluctuations
in power supply the computer or equipment remains functioning.
Our responsibility is to manage the data center and network infrastructure.
We ensure server and network integrity by providing an uninterruptible
power supply, along with reliable and redundant network connections.
