The "Finalist" status from SC Magazine caps off a year of extraordinary accolades and positive reviews of BorderWare's MXtreme. In 2004:

  • MXtreme emerged as the "clear favorite" among anti-spam appliances in a Network World "Clear Choice Test" of 36 offerings.

  • BorderWare achieved leadership in the META Group's "E-Mail Hygiene Vendor Comparison", where MXtreme finished with the highest total score for its overall "Product Functionality", "Platform Specifics" and "Geographic Reach". The study, which is the most comprehensive research of the e-mail hygiene market to date, looked at BorderWare and eleven other vendors.

  • MXtreme was also honored with a Network Computing 2004 Well-Connected Finalist Award in spam prevention in a Real-World review of 35 products, of which only 10 met the criteria for coverage.

  • MXtreme was also rated the most secure, best price-performer in a Federal Computer Week review, bettering its closest competitors because of the product's Common Criteria EAL4+ security certification, sophisticated anti-spam engines and advanced management and failover capabilities.

  • Information Security praised MXtreme for its robust feature set, rich reporting capabilities, and ease-of-use, stating the product is "an effective remedy" that "boasts a feature set that's as comprehensive as it is diverse."

  • An eWEEK review lauded MXtreme as "a flexible e-mail infrastructure appliance that combines solid security features with easy manageability."

"Without doubt, this has been one of the most phenomenal years in BorderWare's history," said John Alsop, CEO, BorderWare. "Industry analysts, media and customers continue to recognize MXtreme as the market-leading appliance for email security. The best is yet to come in 2005 as we expand our products and vision to deliver comprehensive messaging security that encompasses email and SIP."
